“The Strong Right Arm of the Church”
Founded in 1882 by Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney, the Knights of Columbus has become the world’s largest Catholic fraternal organization with nearly two million members in over 16,000 councils, and in 15 countries worldwide. The principles of the Order are Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. Membership is open to all Catholic men aged 18 or older.
The Knights of Columbus support regular initiatives in parishes all across the Archdiocese of Toronto and the world. Referred to as the “Strong Right Arm of the Church” by Saint John Paul II, in 2016, the Knights of Columbus donated (globally) over $175 million, and provided more than 75 million hours of volunteer service
